Queen Elizabeth 2 Transformed Into a Floating Hotel

First built in 1965 the iconic former Cunard cruise ship – Queen Elizabeth 2 will be making her first launch debut as a floating hotel on April 18th 2018, where guest can get a sneak preview of what she has to offer.

Based in the port of Radish in Dubai, this iconic ship will then have a formal opening this October, where people from all over the world will flock to check out her astonishing 224 refurbished rooms, 13 restaurants and bars, as well as a shopping arcade full of stylish designer boutiques and 25 meeting rooms and conference facilities.

What you can expect onboard QE2

Bought for £70 million by a Dubai government-owned company you can expect a blend of history and contemporary chic when you jump onboard. The terminal itself has been turned into a Maritime museum where collections of art work will take you on a journey before even stepping onboard. The 13-deck cruise ship will provide some of the finest views of the skyline around and if you didn’t know already, the queen herself christened this impressive vessel.

Restoring it to its former glory, Queen Elizabeth 2 fans can still take advantage of her traditional furniture, iconic memorabilia and classic interior design. Cruise enthusiasts can still expect to find The Queens Grill onboard serving up the finest British cuisine, the lounge bar known as The Chart Room, the traditional Golden Lion pub, family-friendly Pavilion, the Lido restaurant and The Grand Lounge featuring cabaret.

Hamza Mustafa, CEO of PCFC Hotels stated: “To finally open the QE2 is a dream come true for my team and I. It’s one of Dubai’s most highly anticipated projects and we know that a lot of people are going to be very excited to see her for the first time, or step back onboard the vessel that created so many wonderful memories during her 40 years at sea.”

Guests can choose from a selection of rooms and suites, some even featuring the original port hole windows and others with private balcony’s and that added luxury Queen Elizabeth 2 was renowned for.
